Hi Susanna, let’s start with your latest album, Vai!. I can’t help but ask you about the reason for such an explicit title, yet one that can also be interpreted in different ways. First of all, “vai” is a word that has the same meaning in Italian and Portuguese and, since this is a project that brings together jazz and Brazilian music, and therefore the Italian language and Brazilian Portuguese, I liked the idea of having something in the title that connected these different worlds. Also, “vai!” is an interjection that sounds a little like an invitation to move, to be curious and enthusiastic about setting off to discover something new, just as happens on a journey or in a musical encounter.
