______________________________________________________________

While their name nods to Faulkner and Shakespeare, The Fury play with control, restraint, and architectural rigor. This New York-based supergroup draws on cool jazz lineage—Turner’s saxophone echoes Warne Marsh and Braxton; Lund’s guitar conjures Jim Hall and Frisell—yet they dive into unpredictable terrain through dense counterpoint and interwoven improvisations.

Original compositions form the backbone, save for an opening piece by Myron Walden. The interplay is intricate but never indulgent, and the rhythmic undercurrents—courtesy of Brewer’s probing bass and Sorey’s ceaseless invention—sustain a high level of tension and color throughout.

What this group offers is not “sound and fury” but measured intensity, deliberate construction, and boundless musicianship.
