Peace. It’s a concept that should be universally recognised, but isn’t. Martin, what drew you to this idea, and when did you realise it would become the central theme of the album? Good question! It was actually a long process that began during the making of the previous album, “Birds”. The initial inspiration for that record was birdsong, and I developed other melodies starting from that. But during that period the war in Ukraine broke out, along with other events. Almost naturally, these global developments found their way into “Birds”, like an SOS – a signal for help or a call for peace. Unfortunately, things in the world have taken an even darker turn, so I decided to dedicate this album to peace.
