Born in 1937, educated at the Turin Conservatory, and later based in Milan, Rusca immersed himself in the crucible where Italian jazz took shape – clubs, recording studios, television soundstages – performing alongside figures such as Gerry Mulligan, Stan Getz, Art Farmer, Lee Konitz, Chet Baker, and Enrico Rava. Seventy years on, his touch still carries a rare freshness and clarity. This album is both a synthesis and a statement: a tribute to the masters and an assertion of identity.
