Gato Barbieri: 1964, waiting for Paradiso

Andrea Polinelli, saxophonist, composer, teacher, researcher and translator, publishes for Artdigiland a rich monograph dedicated to Gato Barbieri, the result of more than five years of work (Gato Barbieri. A biography from Italy, between jazz, pop and cinema). With the kind permission of the author and publisher, we report an excerpt, knowing that the work, in addition to a thorough study of the saxophonist, essentially without precedent or comparison, can offer a topic for reflection on today's evolutions of "our" music.
