The world premiere of Around Miles & Trane, staged on 24 February at the Teatro Palamostre as part of the Note Nuove series curated by Euritmica, takes place within one of these moments of rupture: it creates a crossfade between Miles Davis and John Coltrane at the point when both leave one centre behind in search of another – Miles moving towards the electric, Coltrane towards an increasingly inward spirituality. Roberto Gatto approaches these two masters at the most unstable point in their trajectories, when their musical language changes direction and time loses its axis.
