Rufus Reid: A Double Bass Master

We recently had the rare chance to speak in person with one of the true masters of the double bass. Rufus Reid doesn’t travel much anymore- he’s grown weary of life on the road - but during a week-long teaching residency at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama, we caught up with him to reflect on the milestones of a life rich in music and encounters.

Who we are

Musica Jazz is the first Jazz magazine in Italy.
It has been published continuously since July 1945.
It is the second longest running Jazz magazine in the world and among the longest running in Italy.
In December 2015, it was awarded the prestigious Ambrogino d'oro by the mayor of Milan.
It is published monthly and has been published with an accompanying record since November 1981.
